Conal Keaney's opening-half goal was the catalyst at O'Toole Park on Saturday, as Ballyboden St Enda's comfortably booked their place in the quarter-final of the Dublin SFC.

Braces from Brendan Colleran and Aodhán Clabby helped Ballinteer St John's to develop an early 0-5 to 0-2 cushion, but after a series of points edged 'Boden in front, dual star Keaney was on hand to register a 21st-minute major.

This provided the momentum for Andy McEntee's charges to build up a 1-9 to 0-6 interval lead, but despite losing Michael Darragh Macauley to injury, two quick-fire goals from Ryan Basquel placed the tie beyond reach.

A straight red-card for Paul Cronin added further to Ballinteer's woes, and thanks to impressive scores by Kerin (two), Sam Molony, Bob Dwan, Alan Flood and Keaney, 'Boden eased towards a convincing triumph.
