BALLYBODEN ST ENDA'S
CONGRATULATIONS to our senior hurlers, who overcame St Pat's of Palmerstown in the Dublin SHC A Group Three clash with a scoreline of 4-27 to 1-14. Hard luck to our A & B Feile football teams, whose campaign ended short. Well done to the Cs on reaching Division 8 semi-final, only to be beaten by the eventual winners Liffey Gaels. Best of luck to U16 footballers as they take on Naomh Olaf in Division 1 Championship Football Final in Parnell Park, Saturday 23rd @4pm. Please support. Congrats to our senior camogie girls, as they overcame Erin's Isle by 3-16 to 4-6 in PUM last night, despite being 12 points down at half-time. The game was notable for it contained one of the rarest of skills - the sideline cut score. Our very own Anne Griffin repeated her deed from the county final almost 3 years ago last night, with a wonderful cut from 13 metres. Knocklions Special Olympic Club are hosting their Annual Table Quiz in Ballyboden St Enda's on the 28th May at 8pm. It's for a great cause, so pop down. There was no winner of this week's Lotto. OUR Heroes of the Week are our U14 team, who won their Division in Feile in magnificent style, and while some players were exceptional like Mr Kelly at wing-forward or Mr Rooney at full-back, it was the team of players, mentors and manager that deserve the full accolade. So take a bow you lot, you are our Heroes of the Week, and never a more deserving bunch. Maith sibh, Laoch na Seachtaine. What a set of performances. What a credit you are to the club, and your families, and to keep the best performance for the final was the icing on the cake. Enjoy the glow of victory, its well deserved. The management want to pass on the thanks to all the great support, and also to Fingal Ravens and St Peregrine's, who were excellent tournament hosts. Our congratulations also to Darragh Conlon and Sean Tuke, who were representing the club for the Dubs squads this week, but they have a busy weekend next weekend, with the U16s playing the Shield final away to Sylvester's on Saturday. Please try and support the team. Our minors defeated Na Fianna on Sunday morning with a superb Carl Keeley in command. He was assisted by Ryan O'Leary, Leon Young, Dean O'Brien and Aaron Elliot. A reminder to them for gym training on Wednesday at 7pm. Congratulations to Simon Lawlor and his new bride Joyce on their recent marriage. We wish you both a long, happy and healthy life together. Finally, a reminder that our Annual Golf Classic is on in The K Club on August 28th.
JUNIOR team training on Wednesday 7.30pm. New players welcome. Mid-week results: U9 girls away to Na Fianna. Well done girls. Great effort by Olivia Giblin and Isabella Cronan. The U11 girls' impressive run continues with great performances by Lainey Cuddy and Mia Kennedy. Home v St Sylvester's. U13 hurling @ away v Faughs @ 7.30pm. Weekend results: We entered our first team in a boys' Féile Peil na nOg competition. The U14/U13 team put a great effort in on the day and played some great football, beating St Monica's in the opening match but unfortunately they were up against bigger and stronger teams in Na Fianna and Liffey Gaels. U9s bye. U10s at home Vs Skerries. Great win by the U11s, home v St Pat's (Palmerstown). Great performances by Conor White and Ben Horgan. Lotto numbers: 2, 11, 15 & 22. No Jackpot winner, €9,200. 3 numbers: Ray Collier.
WELL done to all players and everyone involved in the Boy's Feile teams at the weekend. The Division 1 lost out on a semi-final spot on points difference, while the Division 6 team lost out by a point in the semi-final. All Feile teams did the club extremely proud this year. It was a great week for the club last week in adult hurling, with all three teams winning their respective Championship matches. See the website for details on the club mini-leagues, which run from the 25th-28th May. Contact Barbara O'Neill at 086-3782419 or firstname.lastname@example.org for interest in taking part in Scor na bPaisti on the 24th May. The club would like to express deep sympathy to club mentor Niall O'Connell on the death of his father Richard. Application forms for the Summer Camps are now on the website. There was no winner of the Lotto Jackpot, which now stands at €3,200. The nursery is on every Saturday in Tir Na nOg at 10am, and all new players and families are welcome.
ROUND 2 of the Group Stages of the Championship didn't produce the intended results. Our first team, weakened by a number of absences, was left to reflect on missed chances in losing to St Sylvester's at Islandbridge by the narrowest margin. The game was evenly matched in the early stages, but with the benefit of wind assistance the visitors were 6 points ahead at half-time. We got back into the game and the scores were tied with three minutes remaining, when Sylvester's converted a long-range free and secured victory by 2-10 to 2-9. Our second team played Wild Geese in Oldtown. The half-time score of 3-4 to 0-3 would make it seem like all one-way traffic, but there wasn't much between the teams in first-half play. We got no return from repeated attacks on the Wild Geese goalmouth, while the home side had a couple of dominant players and two of their goals could be better described as freak accidents. Despite our second-half pursuit of goals, the Wild Geese defended solidly and pressed their advantage with better fitness and distribution, eventually winning by 4-11 to 0-5. The pressure is on now for both teams in the remaining group games if we are to advance to the knock-out stages in the Championship. Training as usual on Monday and Wednesday evening in Islandbridge at 7pm.
CLANNA GAEL FONTENOY
OUR U14 footballers did themselves and the club proud in the Division 1 Féile over the weekend at the Ballyboden St Enda's club. Drawn in a tough group comprising of St Sylvester's and Kilmacud Crokes as well as the hosts, they qualified for the semi-final due to tremendous victories over Crokes and Ballyboden. However, Whitehall Colmcilles proved just three points too strong for them in the semi-final. Notably, this was the same winning margin Whitehall enjoyed over Sylvester's in the final - further evidence of how well Clanns performed in the tournament. The club welcomed Dublin footballer, Jonny Cooper, to make a presentation to our U15 football squad in recognition of success achieved on the playing field. He had some sound advice to impart to the players, not least the need to ensure balance in their lives between sport, education, family and travel. The occasion was also used to conduct a focus group with the players to identify how that success could be built on going forward in terms of participation - anything more than that would be 'icing on the cake'. The combined Uí Chonaill Fontenoy U16 hurlers were involved in a thrilling Division 1 encounter against Na Fianna, which they were somewhat unfortunate to lose by a single goal with a final scoreline of 2-16 to 3-16. The following Lotto numbers drawn on the 11th May did not produce a winner for a Jackpot of €9,000: 6, 12, 27 and 29. The Jackpot increases to €9,200.
TEAM of the Week goes to our U14 boys, who won Feile Division 2. Well done to all involved on a super victory. Adult A hurlers had a great win over Finian's in the Junior Championship, while B team had a big win over O'Toole's. Congratulations to our 5 Dublin players; Sarah Fagan, Caoimhe O'Connor, Heather Bolger, Aoibhe Bell and Niamh Hertherton, in their great victory over Meath in the Leinster U16 Final on Sunday. A fantastic occasion for the club and was capped off with Heather picking up the Player of the Match Award. Our adult players are organising a Fake Wedding Social Night on May 30th. Tickets costing €20 can be purchased from Marguerite (086-1679110) or online via club website. Registration is now open online for our Summer Camps. Tickets for the Leinster Championship double-header on Sunday May 31st can be ordered from Kieran (086-1791120). We would encourage our juvenile mentors to bring in their teams to these matches. BEST of luck to our senior and junior teams when they start their Championship campaigns on Wednesday night. Last year the seniors made it all the way to the final and were very unlucky to lose - in fact it was the only competitive game they lost last year. To date, they have won all the games that they have played in the league and cup, but the championship is a different ball game as this is the competition that every team wants to win. This year they are in a very tough group along with Ballyboden, Clanna Gael Fontenoy and St Sylvester's. To add to the challenge, 2 of the games are away from home and it's vital that they win their home game. Their only home game is this Wednesday night against Ballyboden with the throw-in at 7:30pm. We would encourage all supporters to come along to Kilbogget on Wednesday evening and support the team. Having won the Junior C Championship last year, our junior team will play in the B Championship this year. They too face a very tough group having been drawn in the same group as Raheny, O'Toole's and Naomh Barrog. On Wednesday, they travel to St Anne's Park (pitch 10) to take on Raheny in what is a "double header". These teams were due to play in the Cup competition a few weeks ago, but got cancelled due to the weather, so the game on Wednesday night is of even greater importance to the team. For those of you unable to make it to either game, we'll be posting updates to Twitter, so please follow us - @OfficialFoxCabGAA - if you want to keep up to date on how the games are going.
WELL done to our ladies, who beat Trinity Gaels in the Cup on Wednesday. The ladies will play Erin's Isle in the league on Wednesday night in Finglas at 7.30pm. Well done to our U14 boys, who took part in the Feile at the weekend. Juvenile training continues on Tuesday evenings from 6pm. New members, adult and Juvenile, are always welcome to join our club. Lotto results for last week. Numbers: 1-5-22-27. No winner. €20 winners: John Donnelly, Sean McDonnell and Andrew Fitzpatrick. Seller: Johnny McCann. Next week's Jackpot is: €1,100. Please play our Club Lotto. Tickets are available from any Lotto committee member, Gough's Shop and Gormley's Pub. Our Annual Golf Classic will take place on June 14 at Swords Open, contact: 087-2462992 to get your tee time. Everyone is welcome to play in this competition, so get your teams together. Congratulations to all who made their communion in Garristown on Saturday.
IT was a mixed week of results for the club. The adult hurlers were beaten at the weekend by St Brendan's and the U15 hurlers were unlucky against Lucan. Both adult camogie teams won last week, with the senior 2 side beating Ballyboden and the senior 5 side beating St Vincent's. Next week, the first team footballers play St Oliver Plunkett's on Saturday at 6.30pm at home, while on Sunday the second team play Ballinteer St John's in Marley Park at 3pm. On Tuesday, senior 2 camogie play Lucan away and on Thursday senior 5 camogie also play Lucan. Both games are in Lucan and throw-in at 7.30pm. The old dressing rooms, and toilets across from them, are being repaired at the moment, so please do not use any of these facilities until further notice. Please use dressing rooms 1 and 2 and the toilets in the extension. The Good Counsel Summer Camps will be taking place for boys and girls, U13, on the following dates: Hurling and Camogie Camp takes place on Monday 13-Friday 17 July. Football Camp will take place from Monday 20-Friday 24 July. Both Camps run from 10am-2pm each day. The Camps will be supervised by qualified coaches and there will be Dublin stars as guest coaches. The Club Lotto was not won this week. The numbers were 7-9-23. Next week's Jackpot is €5,500. Bingo continues on Wednesdays in the club at 8.30pm. Texas Hold 'Em is on Fridays at 9pm. Button accordion and concertina lessons are on Mondays at 8pm and set-dancing is on Mondays from 7.30pm.

OUR senior hurlers had another win in the Championship against Round Towers Clondalkin on Saturday night at Monastery Road. AR an gCéadaoin seo caite theip ar na Sinsear in aghaidh Naomh Uinsionn sa Chraobh A i bPáirc Parnell. Bhí Naomh Uinsionn i bhfad ró láidir dúinne agus go n'éirí leo sa ceathrú chraobh. Ar an Domhnach d'éirigh leis na Sóisir an lámh in uachtar a fháil ar Réalt Dearg sa Chraobh D. D'imir cúigear mhionúr agus chuir sé áthas orainn Alan Breathnach a fheiceáil arís ag imirt i gcomhair Setanta. Don dara bhliain i ndiaidh a chéile bhí cluiche speisialta againn in aghaidh na mac léinn ón tSeapáin atá ag freastail ar DCU agus bhí an-oíche againn sa chlub tar éis an cluiche. Tá ár mbuíochas tuillte ag na daoine seo a leanas a bhí ann ag tacú leis an ócáid. Uachtarán CLG Aogán Ó Fearghail, Seán Mac Coisdealbha agus Seán Shanley ó Choiste Átha Cliath agus oifigeach cultúr ó Ambasáid na tSeapáine. Freisin, tá ár mbuíochas tuillte ag Pat Daly, CLG a bhí sásta sliotair, camáin agus clogaid a sholáthair dúinn don ócáid. Maith sibh. Ní féidir linn dearmad a dhéanamh freisin ar Barry agus Mick agus an méid a rinne siad leis na cuairteoirí.

WHAT a week for everyone involved in the club. Our fantastic weekend started on Friday evening with the huge success of our biggest fundraiser to date. The Kube, which was held and well-supported by all our club members in the Red Cow Pavilion. A massive thanks to the Fundraising Committee, all who took part, our sponsors and everyone who supported and attended, making the night a huge success. This was followed by two days of fantastic performances by our U14 boys, who went on to win their Feile Final Sunday morning against a very strong Erin Go Bragh side. Massive effort has been given by the lads and management over the past year and this was clear to see over the two days. A big thanks to Molly Hand, Brian O'Neill and Eugene Murphy, who put in great effort to ensure the lads were as prepared as could be. Also, congratulations to adult player Alan McGreal, who scored in helping his soccer team Crumlin United win the FAI Intermediate Cup on Sunday in the Aviva. All teams are well into their season now, with training and matches every week. Keep an eye on our ever-growing Facebook page for daily updates with all things happening.
