BALLYMUN KICKHAMS

TWO big results over the weekend, but there can be only one Hero of the Week. This week its Shane Leahy, whose last kick of the game (winning point) gave a brilliant victory to our U16s and ensured the Cup Final victory. Well done to the whole team and management on a great result, and we look forward to the upcoming League Final. Our U12s had a great game with St Pat's, while our U11s had a great set of games against Ballinteer, with both teams performing brilliantly. Our U21s progressed to the A Championship semi-final with a comprehensive victory over St Vincent's last Saturday, with Paddy Small to the fore. Well done lads, and keep an eye out for the fixture in the next 2-3 weeks. A big thank you to Paddy Christie who assisted the team during the enforced absence of the manager. Finally, the club mass for deceased members will be held on Saturday the 29th November in the clubhouse at 5.30pm with all members, friends and family welcome to attend.

IT was a great weekend of football for the club, with the second adult men's team securing their Division 6 status for next year, the first team securing their place in the Division 2 promotion play-off semi-final, and the minor team booking their place in the Division 2 League Final. Loads of support is needed this Sunday in Somerton, when our first team hurlers take on local rivals St Peregrine's in the Division 3 Promotion Final. Throw-in at 11am. CLANNA GAEL FONTENOY

OUR Senior Ladies Football team had a great win over St Maur's in the cup semi-final during the week. Congratulations also to the club's Martin McDonnell, who has been appointed Dublin Minor Ladies Football manager for 2015. We wish him every success for the year ahead. However, it was a case of hard luck for our minor footballers, who lost out in their League Final to Naomh Olaf - but they deserve great credit for playing some really good football throughout the year. The new Le Cheile Coach Support Programme is getting under way in the club. Designed to provide team coaches with any additional information or extra knowledge they require, the programme will consist of workshops every 4-6 weeks, which will cover a range of topics based on the challenges coaches face. Participants will be challenged with setting goals to improve their coaching practice, taking on board the task of reflecting on their coaching manner and style and progressing this to ensure they are getting the most from their team and that their team are getting the most from them. The following numbers drawn on the 10th November did not produce a Club Lotto winner: Jackpot A for €10,000 - 5, 18, 20 and 30; and Jackpot B for €3,800 - 9, 21, 22 and 24. KILMACUD CROKES

WITH the 2014 football season coming to a close, and the 2015 season just around the corner, the Football Committee appointed a sub-committee to make recommendations on the appointment of management teams. If you would like to get involved in any of the management roles, we would be delighted to hear from you. Apart from team managers, there are roles for coaches, selectors, mentors, administrators, kit persons and stats persons for teams from U13-Adult (over 20 teams). Please contact Martin Mc Dermott: football@kilmacudcrokes.com. Sunday; Minor D Football Championship quarter-final at home to St Finian's, Swords at 11am. The lads enter the knock-out stages having topped their group, but now need large, vociferous support for this home encounter. Crokes earn their slot in AHL1 League Final: Stars of Erin pitch may be the highest altitude pitch in Dublin - and it was here that our Senior As maintained their lofty ambitions of adding the AHL 1 League to their recent Dublin Senior Hurling Championship. Sunday 23rd they meet Ballyhale Shamrocks in Parnell Park 2pm in the Leinster semi-final. Sancta Maria (All-Weather) has not been a happy hunting ground for our U21s. In early season we lost the 2013 Final v Ballinteer and yesterday saw our exit to Ballyboden. It was a deserved victory for the hosts, who were more cohesive and adept on the all-weather surface. Well done to the U15 Camogie team, who won the Shield Final in a replay today away to Naomh Mearnog by a scoreline of 3-5 to 3-3. Hard luck to the senior ladies footballers, who lost the All Ireland semi-final after extra-time 0-16 to 3-3. Very tense and exciting match in Kerry. Annual Club Mass for deceased members, 8pm Thursday 20th November.

LIFFEY GAELS

We will end the year with a Christmas Party on Sunday 7th December. Mentors will circulate details soon. There was no winner of last week's Lotto. The Jackpot now stands at €2,900.

The Friends of Dublin Hurling Awards were held last Friday and Lucan Sarsfields are absolutely delighted that the Award of Primary School of the Year goes to our own Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada. To win this Award among hundreds of Primary Schools in Dublin is a fantastic achievement and we wish to compliment and congratulate the school and their teachers for the tremendous work and encouragement they give their young hurlers, footballers and camogie players. Only last week, their Camogie team was successful in winning their Cumann na mBunscoil Final in Croke Park as well. Brilliant excitement and noise by all accounts. We also must mention our own Johnny McCaffrey, who provides great support and inspiration to the schools in Lucan and in this case GS Eiscir Riada in playing our sports. Great work Johnny. Lucan Sarsfields first-ever Family Organiser is now on sale in the bar or from the U13 mentors. The Organiser features top quality photographs of the juvenile members up to age 13, and are ideal Christmas gifts for family and friends. If you haven't already seen the Organiser it is well worth checking it out. All funds raised are for the 7 teams who will be representing the club in the Feile competitions early next year. NA DUBHGALL

HARD luck to the Na Dubh Ghall U11 footballers, who were beaten by Parnell's up in Coolock on Saturday morning. At the final whistle the teams were on level terms and the game went into extra-time. After the twenty minutes, our lads won out by a single point. NAOMH MAUR

WELL our hectic year following our senior football team ended Friday night in a downpour and heartbreak with a defeat in the Senior League Division 1 Final. We were simply gutted with this defeat. It ended in defeat but not failure, things just didn't happen for us on the field and Na Fianna were excellent. The support the team got from everyone in Rush and Fingal has been great. Again, Friday night we were well-supported and while the players may be feeling down right now, let there be no mistaking the people are of Rush are very proud of them and this was evident in the crowds who waited after the game to clap the team off the pitch. To team manager Alan Durnin and his management team of Shane Treanor, Julian Sweetman, Paul O'Brien, Ray Rennicks and physio Kate McCloone, thanks for a terrific year. No stone was left unturned and already people are talking of 2015. Congrats to two of our Maur's girls attending Dublin Minor trials Sunday; Sinead Moran and Naomi Clare. Naomi has also been put forward for Leinster Schools trials. Best wishes to both girls. Well done to Robert Halpin and Stephen Bogan, who played their first game for the Dublin U13 Hurling Development Squad. Both were victorious in their games against Cork Sunday morning. St Maur's Boys Super Star Academy: St Maur's are running a new Gaelic football programme for boys born in 2006 and 2005. WELL done to our senior footballers, whose win against Parnell's was a football relegation Championship. This win is the end of our matches for this year and keeps us in the main Senior Football Championship for next year. While our U14 won so much throughout the season we'd need the whole GAA section of the Evening Herald to praise them. So in brief: they won the Football League Final on Saturday by 2 points over St Mary's; their Hurling League; Féile Hurling as well as runner-up in their Football Féile. Well done and congratulations to Ray, his mentors and especially the lads. We had a wonderful turn-out for our Annual Mass on Sunday, giving the players of yesteryear a chance to catch up on times past.
