After three memorable wins in the Guinness Series, Ireland are now ranked third in the world, but Joe Schmidt's men are fifth in the betting to win the World Cup next year at 10/1, with New Zealand the 8/5 favourites.
Looking at the Six Nations, Ireland are still only second favourites at 15/8 behind England at 7/4. Last Saturday's win over Australia was undoubtedly a great step forward and it's a game that Michael Cheika and his side will regret not winning. They are certainly a side in transition and will be a major force in the World Cup but before that they face England this weekend at Twickenham for which they looked over-priced.
England are 8/13 favourites with Australia 13/10. Australia +3 in the handicap at 10/11 is a great bet but back the Aussies to win outright at 13/10.
Rugby World Cup Betting: New Zealand 8/5, South Africa 4/1, England 4/1, Australia 15/2, Ireland 10/1, France 14/1, Wales 18/1.
Six Nations Betting: England 7/4, Ireland 15/8, Wales 7/2, France 6/1, Scotland 25/1, Italy 150/1
