Arthur Griffith growth moving in right direction

BEST OF LUCK for the season to newcomers Arthur Griffith Park FC who were formed in late 2010 in honour of chairman Allan O'Kearney's dad Al (Frank) Senior. The club has grown from one team to nine teams in three seasons and currently field teams at Under 9,11 and 14 in the SDFL, two DDSL, two UCL and a senior ladies.

Success has come thick and fast for the Lucan based outfit as their senior team has won three promotions in a row, won the league cup, travelled to Glasgow to play Celtic FC, Hillsborough to play Sheffield Wednesday FC and played Bohemians FC at their home pitch, while their under 13's won the league and cup in their first season together and they are hoping to continue that in the SDFL.

They welcome players of all ages and anyone looking to get involved in the coaching/management side to join our club.

If you might be interested in joining this fledgling club contact Allan at 0866000329, it could be one of your better decisions this season.

Iveagh start edge past Knocklyon

IVEAGH TRUST FC got their Under 13 Division 2 Sunday off to a winning start when they travelled to Knocklyon United and bagged the points in a 3-2 win on the opening day of the season.

The Trust shot into a 2-0 lead but some lost their way and let United back in to level the tie at 2-2. But they dug deep and in the dying minutes came up with the goods and bagged the points.

Manager Alan Clayton was happy with the result but said he could do with a few new faces to boost the squad.

They are based in Dublin 8 and play home games in the Phoenix Park, anyone interested should contact Alan at 0876841579. For the record the Trust's scorers on the day were Sean Gill, Graham Balfe and Christian Turcu.
