TalkTalk has left workers in turmoil
Did TalkTalk ever consider the human impact of its soulless corporate decision to pull out of Waterford? The repercussions of throwing 575 workers on the dole at the end of the month are simply massive.
They spread across several counties, not just the city of Waterford which is already struggling with an unemployment problem.
Hundreds of families are thrown into turmoil because they can't compete with people who will work for a fraction of their wages in another country.
Work in a call centre is not easy -- but, no doubt, the men and women who had jobs with TalkTalk put huge effort into it.
Their dreams and plans, pinned on the security of having work, are now in tatters. Years after TalkTalk has forgotten Ireland, we'll remember it.
