Kevin McArdle killed four people because he got behind the wheel of a car after drinking nine pints of beer and five brandies.
Of course, he didn't intend to kill a mum-to-be and her unborn baby or his own two passengers.
But the fact that he decided to drive while drunk set the scene for this appalling tragedy.
His sentence of just three years in jail appears to most of us as shockingly inadequate.
He'll serve just two years -- even though four people are dead.
This low sentence is an affront to the families of the victims.
As a deterrent to others who might be tempted to take a chance, it's also useless.
