I spent years in the fashion firing line on TV

IOne thing I remember about The Afternoon Show, which I presented all those years ago, was the amount of emails and letters we received referring to what we wore. Too revealing; too boring; too bright; too dark! We were three (then two) women at the end of a fashion firing line. So I was fascinated to hear about the Australian male TV host who wore the exact same suit for a year as an experiment. And no-one noticed! As Coco Chanel once said: "Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman."

gI'm pleased to say that the young man who appeared on RTE2's The Unemployables last week, with Jennifer Maguire and Darren Kennedy, has been offered an apprenticeship. Andy Gately didn't get the job at the end of the show, but a kind employer rang up the following day to see if Andy would be interested in working with him. I'm delighted for Andy.

LLife is never boring when Roy Keane is around. What with a fabulous stare-off with the football official at the Scotland match and then his 'taking no crap' attitude with the journalists, he is the soccer star that never stops giving.
