Games' show is Top Gear meets MOTD

rI'm loving the highlights coverage of the Commonwealth games on the BBC. It's like Top Gear meets Match of the Day. I have no real interest in these games - they're like a school sports day that only some of the students are invited to. But Claire Balding is one of the best sports broadcasters ever, and this lively, funny show doesn't take itself too seriously. Oh, and with a band thrown in for good measure, its great fun.

aI'm sorry to hear that Fr Brian D'Arcy (right) is battling prostate cancer. He has been keeping his illness to himself while he gets better, it seems. I hope he has a very speedy recovery - Fr Brian's one of a kind.

IIf you haven't seen the promo for Alan Carr's new Channel 4 show, The Singer Takes It All, then try and watch it online. It is absolutely hilarious - his voice is auto-tuned to within an inch of his life and he is his usual witty self. It's incredible that another singing talent show is about to begin, and there we were thinking this format was on its way out.
