TEVERY Irish person should be immensely proud of our troops serving in the Golan Heights. Their daring rescue of fellow UN peacekeepers last week, in the teeth of fierce opposition from Syrian rebels, was testament to their professionalism, training and bravery. Yet again we can be proud of our soldiers in blue helmets. Well done to them all - they've a credit to their country.
JI'm really disappointed with the comments of Education Minister Jan O'Sullivan, who has refused to bring in a ban on fizzy drinks' machines in schools. Calls for their removal came from, among others, the Royal College of Physicians, which issued a report this week on the obesity crisis facing our kids. It's very disappointing that O'Sullivan won't move on this. Surely our children's health merits action?
