hero

KAll credit to Good Samaritan taxi driver Derek Devoy, who stopped three people from jumping off bridges in Kilkenny. He prevented two men from jumping from the same spot in the course of a few hours last month, and also he talked a woman down from a bridge in Kilkenny a year earlier. Fair play to Derek - he's a true hero.

hI must admit my blood boiled when I read of the heartless thieves who conned Raheny pensioner Kathleen Byrne (left) out of €3,000 in life savings. The 83-year-old was scammed by four thugs who pretended to fix her roof, before making her drive to a post office and withdraw her savings. RTE's Joe Duffy branded them "bad, bad, ba***rds". I couldn't agree more.
