FFair play to singer Dolores Keane. In recent years she's featured in the headlines for events unconnected to her music, such as her addiction to alcohol and a battle with cancer. She's bravely overcome both and is now set to return to the stage at the Olympia Theatre next March. Dolores is one of the finest talents we have. It's great to see her back where she belongs.

ITHe powers-that-be in Iran have brought shame on their country. A British-Iranian woman, Ghoncheh Ghavami (left), was jailed for a year for trying to watch a volleyball match between Iran and Italy. It's against the law for women to attend such games, a move apparently designed to 'protect' them. Why should anyone be imprisoned for watching sport? It's outrageous.
