hero

GGavin Glynn, the four-year-old Wicklow boy who travelled to the US for cancer treatment, is back home. He has now prompted Michael Rochford to write a book on his life story called Ziggy: The Almost True Story of a Superhero Boy. The author says he was inspired to write his book by Gavin's battle for survival. What an inspiration this youngster is - Gavin's a hero to us all.

rTRinITY College lecturer Dr Ali Selim has called for all Catholic schools to allow their Muslim pupils wear the hijab, as the garment is "an essential aspect of character". Depriving Muslims of the right to wear one is "very threatening" to their identity, he says. However, this same doctor wants religious crests on school uniforms to be removed. What utter hypocrisy.
