TV3 is clearly banking on the Dubs delivering a major boost to their summer ratings.
The broadcaster has announced details of its 'live' GAA schedule for the coming championship season, which begins with the Sky Blues opening the defence of their Leinster senior football title -- a quarter-final date with Wexford on June 13.
And presuming Pat Gilroy's men justify favouritism there, the TV3 cameras will be back in Croke Park for their semi-final too. That June 27 fixture is a potential showdown with the old enemy, Meath, although Offaly and/or Laois may have something to say about that.
Sandwiching those two football dates will be a Leinster hurling semi-final on June 20, with Kilkenny launching their quest for five-in-a-row immortality -- against Anthony Daly's Dublin, unless Laois or Carlow cause an earlier upset.
The station's July schedule will includes exclusive rights to two provincial football finals -- in Munster and Connacht -- along with some presumably tasty SFC qualifiers.
Leinster SFC quarter-final: Dublin v Wexford.
Leinster SHC semi-final: Kilkenny v Dublin/Carlow/Laois. Munster SHC semi-final: Limerick v Cork/Tipperary
Leinster SFC semi-final: Dublin/Wexford v Meath/Offaly/Laois; Connacht SFC semi-final: Galway v Mayo/Sligo
Munster SFC final
Connacht SFC final
3TV3 also has 'first pick' rights in the decisive qualifying rounds of the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers.
