Limerick next up for Clare boss Fitz

CLARE'S reward for sending the Dublin hurlers crashing out of the All-Ireland championship is a derby showdown with neighbouring foes Limerick.

Clare boss Davy Fitzgerald will now attempt to complete a hat-trick of wins over sideline rival John Allen this season.

The Banner earlier blitzed Limerick in the first round of the Allianz League and then came storming back from eight points adrift to pip the Shannonsiders in the Division 1B final.

The latter encounter saw both managers exchange words during a sideline altercation, upping the ante for next weekend's rematch at a venue yet to be fixed by the CCCC.

The other phase three SHC qualifier pits Cork against outsiders Wexford, with both games to be played next Saturday and the winners qualifying for All-Ireland quarter-finals against Kilkenny and the losing Munster finalists, either Waterford or Tipperary.
