Brogan brothers ready to step in

THERE'S still no Alan or Bernard Brogan in Dublin's starting team this weekend - but manager Pat Gilroy has confirmed that the two All Star siblings are ready to be sprung from the bench against Mayo.

Gilroy gave the strongest hint possible that the Brogan duo -- who remained on the bench for Dublin's opening NFL Division One defeat to Kerry -- will get game time in Castlebar tomorrow (throw-in 6.30).

"They are after putting in an extra week's training, and they've done a bit more than everybody else," Gilroy revealed.

"They are coming along well and there's no injury concerns, so we could definitely play them this weekend."

The Dubs have confined themselves to one change in defence, with Darren Daly replacing Mick Fitzsimons (AC shoulder joint) at corner-back in the continuing absence of the hamstrung Cian O'Sullivan.

DUBLIN (SF v Mayo): S Cluxton; D Daly, R O'Carroll, P McMahon; J McCarthy, G Brennan, C Dias; R McConnell, MD Macauley; P Brogan, K McManamon, B Cullen (capt); D Connolly, E O'Gara, T Quinn. SUBS: TBA.
