A YOUTH will stand trial next month for sexually assaulting a female nearly three years ago.
Judge Clare Leonard ordered the 16-year-old's trial at Dublin Children's Court.
The teenager is accused of sexual assaulting a female in a town in the South East, in December 2008.
The boy, who is contesting the charge, had his case moved to allow for evidence to be given via videolink.
He was not present yesterday and was remanded on continuing bail.

A FORMER garda who was convicted on fraud charges has been granted bail at the Court of Criminal Appeal pending the hearing of an appeal.
John Synnott (55) of Camblin, New Ross, received a three-year sentence with two years suspended in June when a jury found him guilty of causing loss by deception.
The former Wexford town garda had pleaded not guilty to three counts of fraud arising out of an alleged road traffic accident at Newtown Road, Wexford on September 9, 2007.
Man executed for killing son
AN Alabama man has been executed for killing his infant son in February 2005, declaring as his only last words, "game over".
Christopher Johnson was pronounced dead at 6.25pm local time last night after receiving a lethal injection at Holman prison in Atmore, the same community where the crime occurred.
Johnson (38) was convicted in the death of his six-month-old son, Elias Ocean Johnson.
Sixteen die in firework blasts
Two unrelated incidents involving vehicles carrying fireworks have killed at least 16 people and injured 31 in Peru, said police.
In the city of Juliaca, a vehicle packed with confiscated fireworks blew up in front of a police station yesterday, killing four officers and injuring 17 others. Four civilians were injured.
In the second incident, a small public bus, also containing fireworks, caught fire east of Lima
Between 12 and 14 people were killed and another 10 injured.
