Niall Horan has warned that celebrities need to be careful about how they handle fame and insisted he doesn't think he runs with a "Hollywood crowd".

The Mullingar man (24) became one of the biggest pop stars in the world as a member of One Direction.

"There are pros and cons to everything. In regards to fame, I think it's up to you to be smart about how you deal with it," Niall said.

Among his famous friends are Bressie and Laura Whitmore, and he has been romantically linked with stars like Ellie Goulding and Hailee Steinfeld.

Artists

However, the Slow Hands singer doesn't feel he hangs out with an A-list crowd and reckons his friends would still be his friends regardless of their jobs.

"I don't really see it as mingling in the Hollywood crowd," he told AugustMan magazine.

"Due to my job, I obviously hang out with other artists and people that work in 'show business', but I don't see them as the 'Hollywood' crowd.

"I'd like to think we would be friends even if we weren't doing our jobs.

"As for my family and friends, they are everything to me. In LA, I live with my oldest school friend and in London, with my cousin.

"Being on the road and playing shows all over the world for my fans is the best part of my job."
