Woman told garda she was 'a f**king pig'
A Dublin woman told a female garda she was a "hard, heartless b***h" after she became verbally abusive to hotel staff.
Eileen O'Brien (45) had recently suffered the death of a brother, a court heard.
Judge Cormac Dunne applied the Probation Act, saying the garda had given very fair evidence.
The defendant, of Millbrook Avenue in Kilbarrack, admitted to threatening and abusive behaviour at the Shoreline Hotel in Donabate on September 9.
Garda Gemma Twohig said gardai received a call in relation to a man and woman who were outside the hotel and were abusive to staff.
Gda Twohig spoke to O'Brien, who told her she was "f**king scum" and "a f**king pig". Gda Twohig said O'Brien also called her a "hard, heartless b***h".
The court heard O'Brien had never been in trouble before, while Gda Twohig said O'Brien had since written her a letter of apology.
Defence solicitor Fiona D'Arcy said O'Brien had suffered the death of her brother. Ms D'Arcy also said O'Brien was ashamed of herself.
