Woman to face trial over drugs

A VIETNAMESE woman charged with growing cannabis and possession of €210,000 worth of the drug at a house in south Dublin has been sent for trial to Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Hien Nguyen (28) of Grace Court, Dromod, Co Leitrim is charged with cultivation of cannabis and possession of more than €13,000 worth of the drug with intent to sell or supply at Grange Wood, Grange Road, Rathfarnham on dates between June 11 and October 20, 2010.



Stoned mum's baby on roof

A MARIJUANA-smoking woman was arrested in Phoenix after she accidentally drove away with her five-week-old son in a child safety seat on the roof of her vehicle, police said. The baby fell off the car in the middle of an intersection and was found unharmed, said Phoenix police spokesman James Holmes.



Bride in fake cancer swindle

A NEW York bride who faked having terminal cancer to swindle well-wishers into funding her dream wedding and honeymoon to the Caribbean has ordered to repay more than $13,000 (¤10,000) to her victims.

Jessica Vega (25) pleaded guilty last month to fraud and forgery charges after people donated thousands of dollars to pay for her honeymoon.
