The family of a missing young mother who "vanished without a trace" over two years ago have pleaded for information amid fears she may have been murdered.

Elizabeth Clarke (25) was last seen in Navan, Co Meath in November 2013.

But despite two years of searching there has been no clues as to the whereabouts of the missing mother of two.

"There is nothing of Elizabeth," said her heartbroken aunt, Geraldine Olliffe.

"She has completely disappeared leaving her two young kids behind. They are only two and five years old now. We know that she wouldn't leave them. She lived for them and everything she did was for them."

Geraldine said that there has been no sightings or evidence of Elizabeth's whereabouts in almost two years.

"It is a mystery," she said. "She hasn't appeared on CCTV, there have been no proper sightings of her.

"There has been nothing. Just nothing. How can that be?

"People don't just vanish into thin air without a trace, and that is what has happened to our Elizabeth," she said.

Elizabeth's family said she went missing without her ATM cards, passport or phone and have now came to terms with the "fact that they are looking for a body."

They have taken to conducting private digs in the Navan area in the hopes of finding the tragic young mother.

"There is no doubt in our minds that she has been murdered," said Geraldine.

"She was a very vulnerable girl and was easily led, but we know if she was in trouble and had the chance she would have come to us for help.

"As far as we are concerned we are now looking for our Elizabeth's body. All we want to do is bring her home and give her a proper burial beside her granddad. They were very close.

"Nobody can give us an exact date as to when they last seen her. All we know is that it was sometime in November 2013. Nobody from this family has seen her since late 2012," Geraldine said.

"We got really worried when she didn't show up to her granddad's funeral.

"That's when we knew that there was definitely something wrong and reported her missing."

Elizabeth's uncle, Anthony Clarke, said "somebody somewhere must know something".

"People do not vanish, especially not Elizabeth. If something was wrong she would have come to us," he said.

"We are pleading with anyone who may have seen her to please come forward. It doesn't matter how insignificant you think it is. Just please tell us if you know something.

"There are so many young women in Ireland who have been missing for so long - Annie McCarrick, JoJo Dollard, Ciara Breen - we don't want Elizabeth to be added to that list."

Elizabeth is 5ft 3ins in height, approximately seven stone in weight, and of a slim build with brown hair and brown eyes. When her family last saw her she was wearing a yellow hooded top and blue jeans.
