We got mobbed filming Damo and Ivor in Bray -comedy star Hannah
Damo and Ivor star Andy Quirke can't go anywhere without being mobbed.
The TV star recently revealed how he was mobbed getting out of a taxi outside Coppers and had to get a bodyguard to help keep his fans at bay.
His co-star Hannah Crowley, who plays Sarah-Jane has told the Diary how fans crowded around a house they were filming at recently trying to get a glimpse of the star.
"I knew the videos were popular online before we filmed the show, but I can't believe the extent to which it's taken off.
"When we were filming in Bray, groups of teenagers would crowd around the house shouting 'Damo! Ivor!' It was so surreal," she said.
The second series of the show started on Monday night and not only did the show trend worldwide, but it was also a massive hit with viewers.
Figures show that the comedy show was the most popular programme on TV on Monday for 15 to 34-year-olds, beating top soaps Coronation Street and Eastenders.
Hannah (23) said she was thrilled to have landed the part of Sarah-Jane who is pregnant but doesn't know if Damo or Ivor is the dad.
"I was doing some auditions here and there and then I got the script for Damo and Ivor and I just loved it," she said. "I knew straight away that I really wanted the part.
"I loved Sarah-Jane's character from the start. I can be a bit ditzy at times, but everything in the show is done to the extreme so it's a really fun part to play."
The Carrickmines native also revealed that it can be hard to keep a straight face on set.
"When I first started, I thought Sarah-Jane was going to be this bitchy D4 character, but she's actually really nice and sweet and she's really in love with Ivor.
"But it can be hard to keep it together when we're on set because the reactions to her character are just brilliant.
"It's such a great job and I'm so lucky to be starting my career on such a great platform," she added.
Not content being in one of Ireland's top TV shows, Hannah also said that she would love to land a role in Love/Hate.
"Love/Hate is just such a huge show now - it's really big in the US as well so it would be such a thrill to be a part of it, even if I just got a cameo," she said.
"I think it would be a great challenge as well because it's such a different show from Damo and Ivor and the characters are so different," she added.
