Vandals cause €10k damage to GAA club
Raiders have caused €10,000 of damage to a Dublin GAA club -- before leaving empty-handed.
They broke into the Fingallians clubhouse at Lawless Memorial Park in Swords early on June 7 and left a trail of destruction.
Thousands of euro worth of damage was caused to the clubhouse before the vandals escaped along the Broadmeadows Estuary.
"They had used roof tiles to break the skylight and get down into the offices.
"They started in the offices upstairs first and then made their way downstairs to the bar," a source said.
"A pickaxe was found and they had used a fire extinguisher to break down an interior door to gain access.
"They messed up the offices, they smashed all the interior cameras and tills."
No cash or valuables were kept on site.
Repairs have now been carried out on the clubhouse.
