Ulster Bank rip-off
I gave Ulster Bank a shout out recently for its free banking, but I'm taking it back. The British retail bank, bailed out by the UK government, has reversed its decision and it's going to be bad news for customers.
After shedding 600 jobs here due to cut backs, it seems the cost savings will extend to current accounts.
Up to now, all transactions have been free, but not for much longer. It says it will be imposing charges on accounts where a minimum balance is not maintained or where customers don't make a specified number of transactions. Hardly the way to keep customers when they can't afford to be losing them, is it?
