Tyson's pigeon TV show probe

An animal welfare group wants New York City prosecutors to investigate Mike Tyson's reality television show about pigeon racing.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said the Brooklyn-based show was cruel to animals and its races could involve illegal gambling.

The show will follow Tyson as he competes in pigeon races. The former world heavyweight champion has raised pigeons all his life.



Campaigner fined in India

GREEN campaigner Andy Pag -- who is travelling the world in a biofuel-driven bus -- has been ordered to pay a 1,000-rupees (€16) fine for illegally using a satellite phone in India.

London-based Mr Pag was ordered by a court in Western India to pay a fine for violating Indian wireless and telegraphy laws.

The court dropped a more serious charge related to misuse of the satellite phone for espionage and terrorist activity.



Boy 'announced racial message'

A 16-year-old boy who police said made an announcement ordering all black people to leave a Walmart store in Washington Township, New Jersey, has been charged with harassment and bias intimidation, authorities said.

The youth was arrested on Friday and released to the custody of his parents.
