Two quizzed on drugs seizures

OFFICERS who discovered a cocaine mixing factory in Tallaght overnight are continuing to question a 27-year-old man.

Gardai from the Garda National Drugs Unit and the Tallaght Drugs Unit discovered the factory at Dunmore Park in Tallaght at around 6pm.

They found 0.5kg of cocaine, a weighing scale and bags, as well as 20,000 ecstasy tablets.

The drugs have an estimated street value of €135,000.

The man was arrested and is being questioned at Tallaght Garda Station.

Meanwhile, a 39-year-old man has been charged after gardai seized over 100kg of cannabis in Co Louth.

The seizure is part of a joint garda/PSNI operation targeting a criminal gang in Northern Ireland, which is sourcing drugs from a gang in Dublin.

Officers from the Garda National Drugs Unit stopped a northern-registered car just after it drove through the toll plaza at Drogheda.

They found 30kg of cannabis herb and another 70kg of cannabis resin. The drugs have an estimated street value of around €810,000.
