PANTO queen Twink has been "released" from her role in the upcoming Limerick Christmas Pantomine.

The 63-year-old will not be appearing as scheduled in the University Concert Hall's Jack and the Beanstalk Christmas Panto due to "contractual and artistic differences", according to a statement released yesterday.

Her terrier Teddy, who was the subject of a dog-napping a few weeks ago, was also due to be part of the show which begins in four weeks.

Twink, whose real name is Adele King, had posed for photos with Teddy at King John's Castle for the launch of the show.

Jack and the Beanstalk will feature Fair City's "Mondo" George McMahon as Jack, while Voice of Ireland and Celebrity Bainisteoir contestant Richie Hayes takes on the role of Unbelievable Man.

Eurovision hopeful Leanne Moore completes the cast with actors Myles Breen, Richard Lynch and Trevor O'Connell.

It would have been Twink's third panto in Limerick under producer and long-time friend Robert C Kelly.

A statement issued yesterday said: "This year's panto, Jack & The Beanstalk, will no longer feature Adele King who has been released from her role as Dame due to contractual and artistic differences."

It was confirmed yesterday that Twink would no longer feature in the panto, with a "cast change" and a further announcement to follow.

A spokesperson for the University Concert Hall said they had no further comment to make. It's not yet known who will take over Twink's role as Jack's mother.

The Herald was unable to contact Adele King at the time of going to print.
