TV3 star Karen: 'We've already got baby names picked out for our bundle of joy'

Tv3's Karen Koster has already picked out a name for her baby - whether it's a boy or a girl, the Diary can reveal.

The Xpose star and her husband John McGuire are expecting their first child, and Karen said they are thrilled to be welcoming the new arrival this Christmas.

"Yes, we're both really excited. We really wanted to start a family this year so we were just blessed when it happened, because I never took it for granted that it was necessarily going to be an easy journey. We both feel very lucky," Karen explained.

And while the Xpose host is remaining tight-lipped on what they'll call their bundle of joy, she revealed she and John have already decided on a name.

"Yes - we don't know the sex of the baby, but we have decided on name for both a boy and a girl. So we'll just have to wait and see."

Karen (32) has also spoken of how her friends have been giving her lots of advice and support during her pregnancy.

"It used to be men and makeup, its now backaches and buggies on the chat agenda when I meet up with my girlfriends," she said.

"I'm so lucky in that, out of my immediate gang of gals, two have babies and three of us are over halfway through our first pregnancies.

"In fact when I tentatively rang my best friend to tell her that I was pregnant, she shrieked and told me she was pregnant too.

"So that explained why both of us had been ducking out of big nights out," Karen revealed.

She also said that it's nice that they're all going through having babies together.

"It's been invaluable to have close friends to share bumpies (selfies of our bumps) with. So between us, we're running the gauntlet of pregnancy symptoms. Though I seem to be getting off relatively lightly, and my mates are having a tougher time of it.

"They'll have the last laugh I know, as they'll have angel babies, while I won't get a wink of sleep until 2016," she laughed.

Karen and John are going to make the most of their free time until the little one arrives next month.

"Lots of people have been telling me to make the most of our free time, and go to the cinema, go for dinner etc. But right now the only place I want to be is home," she admitted.
