TV3 retains top shows
TV3 has renewed the rights to major audience-grabbers such as The X Factor and is ploughing money into home-grown shows as it fights back in an emerging war with UTV.
The broadcaster has also renewed its licence for Britain's Got Talent, Downton Abbey and several other popular shows, in three-year deals.
The Dublin based station is on the offensive after UTV nabbed the rights to broadcast some of its current stalwarts, including Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
The station is also pouring money into home-produced shows, and will have even more cash to spare once it loses Corrie and Emmerdale.
