Tullamore Dew unveil's new €35m plant
TULLAMORE Dew's new €35m distillery will secure the company's production demands for the rest of the century, its parent company has claimed.
Whiskey producer William Grant & Sons officially opened the new distillery in Offaly, which brings production back to Tullamore for the first time in 60 years.
It has been in construction for two years, and its backers say it was built to meet the growing demand for Tullamore Dew.
Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney said Irish Whiskey is the star of the Irish food and drink industry and the fastest-growing spirit on world markets.
Tullamore Dew is the second largest Irish whiskey in the world by sales.
