Tributes as TV star Winton dies at 62
TV presenter Dale Winton has died at the age of 62.
His agent announced last night that the Supermarket Sweep star had passed away at his home earlier on Wednesday.
Winton was a TV favourite with shows like Supermarket Sweep and In It To Win It.
More recently, he had made a show for Channel 5, Dale Winton's Florida Fly Drive.
Tributes to the star, known for his tanned appearance, were led by Davina McCall who said on Twitter: "I am so so so sad to hear about Dale Winton a lovely, warm, kind, sensitive, generous soul with a touch of naughty ! RIP."
Graham Norton also paid his own tribute, saying: "Dale Winton gave me the best bit of showbiz advice I ever got - Don't quit the hit! Thank you Dale."
Other celebrities who posted messages expressing their condolences included singer Boy George who said he was "shocked", posting a message on Twitter saying Winton "was a sweet man".
Winton's long-term agent Jan Kennedy asked for the star's grieving family's privacy to be respected.
