Trial for trio on petrol station robbery charge

A WOMAN and two men accused of robbing €700 in cash from a petrol station have been sent forward for trial.

Suzanne O'Connell (42), Jason Flaherty (20) and Daniel McMahon (22) are accused of stealing €701 in cash in various denominations from Applegreen Service Station in Clonsilla.

Mr Flaherty is also facing a further five robbery charges, including an allegation of stealing €1,200 from the same Applegreen petrol station four days earlier.

Ms O'Connell, of Whitestown Crescent in Blanchardstown, Mr Flaherty, of Briarwood Lawn in Mulhuddart and Mr McMahon, of Woodlands in Clonsilla, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with robbery at Applegreen in Clonsilla on September 19, 2013.

Mr Flaherty is further accused of robbing a total of €1,000 from Spar, Littlepace on August 21 and September 9, 2013, some €300 from Spar Coolmine on September 14, 2013, and €495 from Spar, Clonsilla Road on September 15, 2013.

A State solicitor said the book of evidence was ready and had been served on the accused, who go forward to the present sittings of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Judge David McHugh gave the accused the formal alibi caution.
