Trainee nurse had no motor insurance
A STUDENT nurse caught driving without insurance was going through a bad time following the death of her mother, a court heard.
Lynne McKenna (22) asked a judge not to put her off the road, as she needs her licence to be able to get to college.
Judge John Coughlan fined her €500 but did not ban her from driving.
The defendant, of The Square, Larch Hill in Santry, admitted before Swords District Court to driving without insurance at Clare Hall Avenue, Dublin 17 on September 12 last year.
Garda Michael McCallion said he stopped McKenna driving a Fiat Punto. He asked her for her insurance details but she failed to produce them.The court heard McKenna is a student nurse. He said she co-operated with gardai.
