Toddler mauled by two dogs

A two-year-old boy has suffered serious facial injuries after being attacked by two dogs, police said.

The toddler was mauled by the animals, which are believed to be Staffordshire Bull Terriers, in a back garden in Swindon, before being rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.

A 49-year-old man also received hand injuries during the incident at an address in Swanage Walk, Swindon.

Wiltshire Police said both dogs had been seized.



'US rockets kill 15 in Pakistan'

Rockets fired from a US drone have killed 15 people in northwest Pakistan, intelligence officials said, an attack likely to add to tensions between Washington and Islamabad amid a standoff over NATO supply routes to Afghanistan.

The strike, the third in three days, targeted a militant hideout in the Hesokhel village of the North Waziristan tribal region, officials said.



Sony's stock price tumbles

Sony's stock price has fallen below the 1,000 yen (¤10.30) barrier for the first time since 1980 in a symptom of its decline since it found huge success with the Walkman three decades ago.

The electronics giant has struggled to turn around its money-losing TV business for eight years and has been battered by competitors.
