Three new suspects held over pub killing

THREE more suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of teacher and publican John Kenny.

The three men were arrested in the Galway area and taken to Mill Street Garda Station.

The youngest suspect is thought to be 17 -- the other two are in their 20s and late 30s.

Mr Kenny (56) was found dead and tied to a chair in the family-owned bar in the picturesque Co Galway village of Oughterard on Sunday, September 25.

He was discovered by his daughter Gillian, who paid tribute to him last Saturday at his funeral, calling him "her best friend".

Father-of-two Florin Fitzpatrick, of Romanian origin, has been charged with withholding information.

Fitzpatrick, who took his estranged wife's surname, has lived in Ireland for 10 years and worked as a security guard for seven of those years.

He was refused bail. Further charges could be brought against him.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Oughterard Garda Station. Anyone with information should contact 091 557320.
