Teen suspected of gangland assassination attempt
A BOY aged just 16 is suspected of carrying out a gangland assassination attempt in Dublin.
The youngster on a bicycle fired several shots, pumping a bullet into the chest of a Republican agitator.
The youth opened fire on Frank Nolan (48) in broad daylight in Ballyfermot. The gun attack is thought to be part of a Republican split and the boy was used by the Real IRA to carry out the shooting.
Nolan remained in a critical condition in hospital today as detectives hunted the teen assassin, who fled the scene at Oranmore Road on a bicycle at around 3.20pm yesterday.
Nolan had collected his dole money from a local post office shortly before he was shot.
