A YOUTH was remanded in custody yesterday after he was charged over an attempted robbery of a man in south Dublin last Sunday.

The teen had been due to appear in court next week on charges which relate to trespassing, criminal damage and violent behaviour. Judge John O'Neill granted legal aid, but refused bail. The teen was remanded in custody to appear again today.

A Haitian judge said he would probably order the release of the last two American missionaries detained for trying to take 33 children out of the country after the earthquake.

Judge Bernard Saint-Vil said he expected to resolve the case after a hearing this afternoon. Eight other Americans detained with them have already been released.
