Teen held after Glock and €30k of coke seized
A SUSPECT remains in custody today following the discovery of a Glock pistol and €30,000 in cocaine.
Two young suspects -- one female -- were arrested by armed gardai as they searched two homes in the Myra Close area of Inchicore on Wednesday night.
The Glock handgun with a loaded magazine and €20,000 worth of cocaine were discovered as gardai searched a house in Myra Close. Cocaine worth around €10,000 was found in another property.
Meanwhile, in separate searches in Wicklow and west Dublin yesterday, €456,000 of cannabis plants and herbal cannabis were seized. Four men are in custody following these seizures, one of which was at a cannabis grow house in the Glen of Imaal, Co Wicklow.
Officers from the Garda Technical Bureau carried out ballistic tests on the pistol last night at Garda HQ in the Phoenix Park.
They are trying to determine whether the gun has been used in shootings across the capital.
Gardai arrested a 20-year-old man and he was still being questioned today at Kevin Street station under section 2 of the drug trafficking legislation.
He can be held for up to seven days without charge.
A 17-year-old girl was detained at the scene and also taken to Kevin Street for questioning. She was released without charge.
