Teen guilty of sexual assault

A teenager has pleaded guilty to assaulting and sexually assaulting a young woman in a Dublin home two years ago.

The victim wept and ran out of court as the youth entered his plea. The 18-year-old pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to the sexual assault and assault of the woman in south Dublin on September 5, 2009.

He was remanded in custody until sentencing in November. Mr Justice Paul Carney ordered he be registered as a sex offender and that a victim impact report be presented to the court on the next date.



Bush pleased at Osama death

Former US President George W Bush said he was pleased but not joyous when he learned US forces had killed Osama bin Laden.

Mr Bush praised President Barack Obama for making the tough call to go after the terrorist mastermind in Pakistan.

He also defended his own authorisation of 'enhanced interrogation techniques' and the $700bn financial bailout plan of 2008.

Mr Bush left office in January 2009. He has kept a low profile since returning to his home in Texas.



Collins to play West End role

TV presenter Justin Lee Collins is to take a starring role in a new West End musical.

The bearded funnyman is in the cast for the UK version of Rock Of Ages, which launches this summer after becoming a huge hit in the US.

The show, which features a number of Eighties rock hits, will see Collins ageing hippy Dennis Dupree.

Rock fan Collins said: "Being a fan of bands like Whitesnake, Foreigner, Journey and Bon Jovi, I couldn't resist when I heard about the chance to appear in the show."



Six new babies for US mother

It's a boy! And another two boys! And three girls as well!

A suburban Philadelphia family is welcoming six new additions. A statement from Abington Memorial Hospital announced the birth of the sextuplets. The hospital says the three boys and three girls are premature. They are being cared for in the neonatal intensive care unit.
