Teen admits to four bike thefts

a YOUTH who stole four bicycles from a north Dublin train station has been given a four-month custodial sentence.

Judge John O'Connor noted at the Dublin Children's Court that the 17-year-old had not co-operated with the Probation Service and had been found unsuitable for an 80-hour community service order.

The boy, who was accompanied to court by his father, admitted stealing four bikes from Balbriggan train station on three dates on June last year as well as possessing bolt-cutters for use in a theft offence on two dates in the same month.
