Teen accused over Dart fire

A DUBLIN youth has been accused of causing €1,500 worth of fire damage on a Dart train.

The 17-year-old appeared at the Children's Court charged with causing damage at Kilbarrack station on September 7 last. Judge Bryan Smyth heard it was alleged that the boy "set fire to pieces of paper on a train, causing extensive damage to seats".

The jobless teen was ordered to appear again next month when he is to enter a plea to the charge.

The star (62) is recovering after another bowel operation, just weeks after he told of a "spectacular" recovery from his treatment.

He is still hoping to attend the London premiere of his Titanic Requiem in April.

A Tibetan monk in western China has become the latest to set himself on fire in protest against the authoritarian government, according to fellow Tibetan exiles.

The monk (20) died in Jialuo, shouting slogans in protest against Beijing's heavy-handed rule in Tibet.
