Team-mates help GAA star make the most of his match of the day

GAA star Kieran Donaghy enjoyed a winning day off the field as he married his long-term girlfriend in a lavish ceremony.

His Kerry team-mates as well as Today FM star Louise Duffy and RTE broadcaster Siun Ni Ghearailt were among the guests gathered in the picturesque village of Waterville, Co Kerry, to celebrate the marriage of Kieran and Hillary Stevenson at St Finian's Church.

The newlyweds have known each other for over 10 years, both growing up in Tralee, but chose the seaside village where Hillary's parents, Frank and Angela, have a home.

This was followed by a reception at the Sneem Hotel for the 300 guests.

Team-mates included Paul Galvin with girlfriend, Today FM presenter Louise Duffy, Kerry captain Eoin Brosnan and his wife Mary, Marc O Se and his wife Sarah, Darran O'Sullivan, Declan O'Sullivan, Kieran O'Leary, Bryan Sheehan and Killian Young.

Ever the snappy dresser, Paul opted for tight-fitting pair of grey trousers, teamed with a lighter grey jacket over a grey jumper and wine cravat.

Looking suitably sophisticated was Louise in a knee-length dark grey dress with black and wine panels, with her dark tresses pinned back in a stylish up do.

Former basketball player Donaghy, who stands at a towering 6ft 5inches, was dapper in a black tuxedo with a longer length jacked teamed with a cream waistcoat and cravat of the same colour.

The blushing bride was all smiles and with good reason as she held on tightly to her new husband.

Hillary looked beautiful in a tight fitting ivory satin and diamante encrusted gown.

The floor-length dress was finished off with a fishtail flourish, while the bride wore a fur stole around her neck to keep her warm from the January chill.
