Taxpayers set for break
good day for
Finance Minister Michael Noonan (left) said he will look at tinkering with tax rates and the Universal Social Charge in next month's Budget after tax receipts jumped this year.
The possible tax cuts would be directed towards middle and lower income earners who've been burdened with shouldering the cost of repairing the country's battered finances.
But Minister Noonan warned that tax cuts in the Budget might have to be paid for elsewhere in the economy. There's no such thing as a free lunch.
