A MAN charged in connection with the theft of €10,000 worth of jewellery from a house in south Dublin has been sent for trial to the Circuit Criminal Court.
Derek Mason (30) of Summerhill, Dublin, is facing trial on the charge of burglary from the house last September.
The offence is alleged to have happened at St Helen's Wood, Booterstown.
Mason had a book of evidence served on him at Dublin District Court.
Judge Bryan Smyth gave him the alibi warning before sending him forward to the Circuit Court.
The District Court heard previously that jewellery worth €10,000 and a mobile phone were taken from the house after the culprit broke in through the front window between 6pm and 11pm.
The mobile phone was found on him when he was subsequently arrested in the Store Street area, the court heard. Forensic tests of the scene were carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau.
The DPP directed trial on indictment.
