The forces of good and evil were on a collision course over the weekend as Ireland's comic book, gaming and fantasy fans invaded the Convention Centre for the exhilarating climax of Dublin Comic Con.

The world-famous franchise saw thousands of geeks from far and wide get together in a safe space to channel their inner superhero and/or villain.

Spirit

Among those who got into the spirit of things for the action yesterday were Graham Kavanagh, from Clondalkin, who came as Night Wing, and Siobhan Hind, from Beaumont, who was channelling DC comics classic Batgirl.

The forces of evil were also well represented, with Aaron Lockhart dressed as Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel and Ciara Lockhart as Wendy, daughter of the DC Comics supervillain Calculator.

However, the highlight of the event was actor Lou Ferrigno, who played the original Hulk in the US TV series. Other stars attending were Pom Klementieff, Charisma Carpenter and Ron Marz.
