Student lost shoes in brawl Oil tanker crew in drugs arrest Mystery knitter spins a yarn Aniston joins film premiere

A COLLEGE student kicked out so violently against two nightclub bouncers that he lost both his shoes in the struggle, a court heard.

Sean Quigley (21) admitted he was so drunk that he didn't know what he was doing and apologised for his behaviour.

Quigley, of Valeview Lawn, The Park, Cabinteely, admitted before Dun Laoghaire District Court to public drunkenness and threatening and abusive behaviour.

The incident took place at Burn Beach nightclub, The Hill, Stillorgan, shortly after 2am on October 20 last year.

Judge Ann Ryan ordered Quigley to complete an alcohol awareness course and said she'd apply the probation act.

Oil tanker crew in drugs arrest

Venezuelan authorities arrested 23 Turkish oil tanker crew members on drug trafficking charges stemming from a recent bust aboard the vessel.

National Guard troops discovered 100 packages of cocaine aboard the Aqua Valetta on February 20 as it was docked in Maracaibo Lake.

Prosecutors suspect the crew planned to smuggle the cocaine out of Venezuela.

Mystery knitter spins a yarn

Someone is spinning quite a yarn over one New Jersey shore town.

An unknown person, dubbed The Midnight Knitter by West Cape May residents, is covering tree branches and lamp poles with little sweaters under cover of darkness.

Mayor Pam Kaithern says police are looking into the guerrilla needlework, which technically is against the law because it is being done on public property without permission.

Aniston joins film premiere

Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler will walk the red carpet tonight for the gala premiere of comedy caper The Bounty Hunter.

The movie stars Butler as Milo Boyd, a down-on-his-luck bounty hunter.

He lands his dream job -- tracking down ex-wife Nicole Hurly, played by Aniston, a reporter who gets mixed up in a murder. The story sees the warring exes continually getting one-up on each other -- until they find themselves on the run for their lives.
