Star Lionel loved my lips, says TV3's Anna
Ireland AM presenter Anna Daly has told of how Lionel Richie said she had "great lips for pouting" while interviewing him recently.
"He's such a great character and he's such a nice guy to interview, plus he's a total guilty pleasure of mine so it was great to meet him again," TV3's Anna told the Herald.
"He was so nice to chat to and he was so funny when we were posing for pictures after the interview.
"He said to me, 'You've got great big lips, you can pull a good pout', so I have a hilarious picture of us pouting together.
"Sometimes it can be a bit awkward posing for pictures with a celebrity, but he was great fun."
Richie also told Anna he loves playing in Ireland and that Irish women still throw their knickers up on stage to him.
"The Irish audiences make me pick up my game," he said.
Several years ago, millionaire JP McManus surprised his only daughter, Sue Ann, on her wedding day by having Richie sing at the celebrations.
His interview on Ireland AM will air at 9.10am on Monday.
Meanwhile, Richie comes face to mangled face with an unflattering likeness of himself when comic Alan Carr recreates the famous video for the singer's hit single Hello.
The former Commodores star was crafted in clay during the promo for his 1984 chart-topper by a blind sculptor.
And during an appearance on night's edition of Alan Carr Chatty Man he was confronted by a new version complete with googly eyes and a stick-on moustache.
Carr earlier discussed the bust made for the video and vowed: "I could make a better head than that. I'll even do it with my eyes closed.
Unimpressed Richie conceded: "You were blind, you couldn't see a thing. It's... unique, and I will cherish it, always. I will get to take it with me, right?"
