Southside man’s body found in city canal
The body of a man has been found in Dublin’s Grand Canal.
It was spotted at Baggot Street Bridge at around 7am, on the Donnybrook side of the waterway, and the remains have now been taken from the water.
“At this early stage there does not seem to be any foul play involved,” said a source.
The man has been identified as being in his 50s and from south Dublin.
Meanwhile, gardai investigating the death of a young man found at an exclusive housing estate do not believe he was the victim of foul play.
The State pathologist was expected to arrive at the house at Bishopsfield, Williamstown in Waterford city later today where the 30-year-old was found.
The discovery was made by a friend. A source said: “There were no visible injuries on this man's body and there were no signs that the property was broken into.”
It is believed the man was from nearby Tramore.
