'Social services won't help son'

A MOTHER has claimed social services have done nothing to help her deal with her troublesome teenage son.

The 17-year-old's mother told the Dublin Children's Court "this has been going on for nearly a year, I want something done". She claimed that she appealed to social services for help last February.

Judge Ryan heard that the teenager had been arrested on Monday over his failure to attend a hearing on a public order charge last week. He picked up a further criminal damage charge while he was in garda custody. The teenager was remanded in custody to appear again next week.
