A YOUNG DUBLIN music student will perform in a prestigious international singing final in The National Concert Hall tonight.
At the age of just 20, Gemma Ni Bhriain is the second youngest person to ever compete in the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition.
The Tallaght native (left) beat 150 entrants to make it into the final six at tonight's classical singing contest.
The student at the Royal Irish Academy of Music said she is "still in shock".
"I didn't think I would get through at all and my teacher wasn't so sure about entering because you have to be 20 to participate, but after taking advice we decided to go for it", Gemma told the Herald.
Each finalist must perform an operatic aria that will last a maximum of 16 minutes, accompanied by the RTE National Symphony Orchestra.
